Come on in, grab a cup of coffee (the pot is always on)or a cup of tea or your favorite beverage and sit a spell by the cozy fireplace. When the weather is warm, sit in one of the big rockers, or in the swing out on the porch. There is always great music to listen to, and a great view. We consider a day lost without laughing many times, or bursting into song or dance. Stop by often, you will always be welcome. We love meeting new people , as well as keeping in touch with our family and friends. Some of Sheyenne's favorite sayings: Sing like no one can hear you Love as though you will never be hurt Dance as though no one is watching Laugh often and much Live as though heaven is on earth. Remember where you come from ...... never let anyone compromise your morals or values BE truthful and honest in all things Even when you have made a bad decision or mistake...... it may be difficult knowing you have hurt those you love and that love you but it is only way to get past it and to be trusted It does not matter whether you are a good or bad example of a Christian, to the unsaved your life may be their only example. Actions speak louder than words...... Walk the talk...... If you look for the good in people You will find it............ Believe in your dreams It is the only way They can come true When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically, you have nothing to fear. It isn't what life hands us to deal with It is how we react to it............. The ultimate measure of leaders is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where they stand in times of challenge and controversy. Every oak tree started out as a couple of nuts who stood their ground. Dare to be different. It's not where you look, but what you see. Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take your breath away. Great love and great achievements involve great risk. Sheyenne received an e-mail 'again today
titled,'I Wish You Enough' again today and as it has in the past, it touched her heart. We never know when we will lose someone, and sometimes we can't see family and friends as often as we wish and want to see them. SDB May 7, 2007 All Rights Reserved As they walked out the door From shopping at the store I couldn't help but notice The smiles upon their faces Arms draped across Each other's shoulders And the lightness in their steps. I marveled as they looked Into each others eyes And couldn't help but wonder If this was a new love A renewed love Or a love that has lasted a lifetime. As they made their way Across the big old parking lot They were laughing and talking Totally emersed in each other As children do when they play. I wondered why people in love Couldn't always be this way. As he opened the door for her They exchanged a quick kiss I saw the care he took with her She lightly patted his hand He gave her a hug As smiles lit up their faces, I wondered what the secret was For such love and affection. As he walked around the car Her eyes followed his every step And she seemed to sigh When he finally sat down They shared a laugh As I still wondered If this was a new love Renewed love Or a love that lasts a lifetime. Aussie aka Aussie the Outlaw
Aussie Tales Aussie is our beloved family pet. She is part
blue heeler, australian shepherd and border collie. She definately is a herding dog, as she frequently tries to herd us. One of her favorite pasttimes is to chase leaves, snow falling and more. Her most favorite thing to do is go wherever we are going, as she loves to ride in the pickup. That is a site to see, as she peers over the side, with her tongue flying back to her ears and her tail wagging as fast as it will go. Her alias came about shortly after we acquired her. She got loose from us one day, and took off. If you have been around this breed of dog, you know how fast they can run. Fortunately, or unfortunately for her, ( I'm sure she thought s he would have awhile to have the run of the small town, that we visit quite often, she was picked up by the local policeman and we had her back in no time( a couple of hours), but it seemed like an eternity to us. I was relating the story to my cousins and their youngest, who was 5 years old, and jokingly said 'well we get a dog and now have an outlaw in the family and that we had to break Aussie out of the pound'. (We didn't really, break her out.) LOL!! A couple o f days later my husband and Aussie were out and about when they stopped to visit with our cousin and his son. Aussie was in the back of the truck when my five year cousin whispered to his dad, isn't that the dog that was in jail. LOL!! He thought Aussie and us were going to be in big trouble. Anyway, that is the story of how Aussie is also known as Aussie the Outlaw. Well, my latest little escapade,with

Fozen Drink Saga or 'how to clean your house
even though it isn't your favorite thing to do, one mess at a time!! Aussie had to help of course! This is the response she received in reference to the following
story from one of her sisters, Judy...........This is hysterical!! You could have your own reality show! Install a video camera!!! Is America's Funniest Home movies still on? Love , Judy Sheyenne said she wasn't sure whether to thank her, or not,
as she wasn't sure it was a compliment..lol..... but love you sis very much....... This is part of an e-mail sent to family
and friends. I was up late as usual, (3:00am in the morning)
and going over some paperwork and working on the computer, when I decided that I needed a coke. I love to put them in the freezer and get it all frozen and slushee(sp). I normally open it and drink a sip or two out of it before putting in the freezer. But I digress, anyway, I went to get one out of the freezer and just gave the lid one twist to open it, when a flash of brilliance came to me( which doesn't happen often...lol) for the papers I was working on, and went back to the computer before the thought is lost to meforever. I had barely sat down, when I heard a hissing sound followed by a louder whooooshing sound!!! Whoaaaaa!!! I knew I had to move quickly and of course
our brave Aussie, who is laying at my feet, jumps up like something was after her!! I realize the sound was the bottle of frozen pop and I'm trying to get to it. As I straddled over Aussie, she decides to make her getaway which causes me to stumble and my foot catches the edge of the her dog food bowl as I step into the kitchen and dog food is scattered all over the floor. I grab the edge of the counter to keep from falling and my other foot lands in her water bowl !!! Well, somehow my foot in the water bowl has created a little bit of suction with my foot. My other foot steps on a piece of dried dog food, and it feels like a rock!! With water flying all over, dragging this bowl with my foot still in it, I lunge for the bottle of coke. I grab the bottle and was going to twist the cap back down and then slowly open it, as that will usually keep it from spewing all over. Just as I touch the lid, all I heard was loud hisssssss and kaboom, the lid blew off, hit the ceiling and frozen pop shooting up in the air and flying everywhere.. You would have thought I was opening a champagne bottle!! I'm in disbelief, as I had no idea frozen pop could travel so far and so fast!! This was frozen, how in the world did it get out of the a bottle and the bottle still be intact (that one I still find unbelievable, nary a crack in the bottle). It was on the ceiling, in my hair, on my face, all over the floor, counters, and cabinets. As I was surveying and pondering
over this latest development and how big of a mess I now had, I still had my foot in Aussie's water bowl. (everything is happening very quickly, felt like fast forward in a movie at the time) Aussie now decides, nosy little thing she is, after realizing that something wasn't going to get her, came into the kitchen to check things out and decides that my foot doesn't belong in her bowl and begins herding with me to remove my foot, She, also starts trying to lap at my foot (which tickles) trying get a drink, little does she know, there is nothing in there as it is all over the floor. She then puts her head between my ankles and pushing me to lift my foot out her water. That is a little difficult at the time, as she is pushed up against me and I am off balance as it is, so I kind of growlllllll at her and being the spook of all time, she backs up and I take my foot out of her bowl. She looks in her bowl as if she is going to have a long drink of water only to find 'voila' nothing. She looks up at me and then at my foot as if it is the culprit that drank all of her water and begins licking my foot again. Now if you all know me very well, I do not like a dog licking me and as I pick up my foot to kind of stomp the floor, my foot catches the edge of her water bowl (had not filled it with water yet, thank goodness) and it flips up in the air somehow and lands on her. Well that did it for her, she took off and then
stood in the dining room and peeked around the corner to see what else was going to happen. She kept looking at her dog food scattered on the floor and up at me and then at my feet. I'm telling her "don't even think about it", as I think she is going start licking my feet again. Finally, I guess she decided it was safe and came in to eat her dog food. Well, bless her little pea pickin' heart, at least that was one thing wouldn't have to clean up!! At this point she would grab a piece of dog food, keep one eye on me and then look at my foot and then to her other food still scattered on the floor. She must have thought "big foot" might eat it, since it already had devoured her water. What a mess!! But at least the counters, floor
and cabinets had a cleaning and my hair...... well it just would wait til I had a shower later on in the morning. Apparently, I didn't drink any of the coke
before putting it in the freezer and so it built up more pressure. At any rate, moral of story, frozen pop can travel far and wide. Just another day in the life of .......Aussie
and me and my spouse, well .........he slept through the whole event!! |

excerpt from a letter to her family and friends... you make me laugh....I can picture it all....how do these things happen to you???? Love, Judy glad this humors you so sis...lol..love you very much....Sheyenne/SDB NOTE: to readers of the following, this occurred at her cousin's place, and where she and her husband love to spend as much time as possible. Dear All, Thought you might enjoy this little story... Well, about fell off the 3 wheeler at Damon and Jimmies' the other day. Braden and I went down to feed the calf and I was carrying a big milk bottle (calf size) and my first mistake I'm sure was getting on behind Braden, who is six years old, but there is still a lot a kid in me, and letting him drive!! lol!! But hedrives it all the time and does a great job, so wasn't worried about it. Besides I had no clue how to start it, but did ask where the brake was, in case needed it. First thing , trying to get on it was an ordeal as had nothing to balance myself with, as had a big milk bottle(not a baby bottle) in my hand for the calf and this thing is two pot bellied stoves wide and it is difficult to get my leg up and over without falling over on the other side and getting my derriere into place. Finally succeeded, with Braden giving me instructions and chuckling and moving up on the thing so I could try to get on a narrower spot. Finally we are all set to go and when we take off, the three wheeler lurches and here I am with the milk bottle in one hand, holding on with the other and my feet and derriere in the air sliding off the thing!!. Braden immediately stops the contraption to check on me as I'm yelling whoa!!! whoa!! When he does this now I'm sliding to the other side and backwards. We both recover and start out again and the same thing happens only this time I'm yelling whoaaaaaaaa! as my arms and legs were flailing about and my left leg now has mud and tire tracks all over the back of it from the tire. Guess thought I could stop the thing with my leg. Braden immediately stops again and here I go sliding the other direction. Braden now preceded to tell me this isn't a horse!! I said what... ?? And he said you are yelling whoa!!! I started laughing as he precedes to check on me and we start to head off again...well, you can guess what happens next. By this time dogs and cats are scattering everywhere and carrying on from all the noise and the whoaaaaaaa's!!! Braden really was concerned and felt bad about all this, plus he really wanted me to ride with him. Even with his caring concern , I could see he was trying desperately not to laugh, as he tells me, I don't know why it is doing this. I assured him I was ok, before we both bust into peels of laughter, and replied "I don't know either but think I will walk before I am on the ground." That's all I need to hit my head again. Still haven't recovered from hitting it earlier this summer. (That is another story for another time ) He said are you sure??? I respond you are kidding
right!! He really wanted me to ride with him. We had a good laugh over it. Course I had to laugh as I could just imagine what it looked like. We decided someone missed a good family funny video moment. Then it dawned on me, wondered if anyone had been watching this little escapade. Now we get to the barn and Gabby, the pygmy goat is out in all her glory, sharp pointy horns and all. And I have a flashback to a previous incident with this goat. This is the same goat that got in the truck with me one time and as I was trying to get the goat out of the truck I shut my hair in the truck door. You might know I was on my knees in the front seat trying to get some things out of the back seat, when she decided to join me. So no I am turned all different ways trying to get her out and here I am with my hair caught in the door, can't reach the handle, the goat and me, both stuck in the truck! Now this was a dilemma, as every time I moved she either did a flip flop and changed directions, or was butting me in the derriere. I thought I would never get turned around in the seat so I could reach the door handle. Thank goodness at that time his horns were shorter and not as pointy as they are now. At any rate, I said to Braden, 'the goat is out'. He replies,'oh she is scared of us and won't bother you.' I said,'oh sure, I've already had dealings with Gabby and believe me she wasn't afraid one bit.' Fortunately by the time we made it to the barn, Gabby had retreated back into the corral. We gave the calf the bottle and glad he didn't get out as he did the day before and it took all six of us, to get him back in the pen and get the other steers out. None of them wanted to go where they were supposed to be. Well, when we finally got back to the house, we got our answer as to if anyone had seen this fiasco(the 3 wheeler incident)... Jimmie had been seen it all!! Someday, will have to tell about the goose and the duck, the turkey named Christmas, or maybe the pot bellied pigs........................ Anyway...nothing better than life on the ranch or in the country in a small rural community... but it is a good life and relaxing most of the time. Can't think of a better way to live. Good old fresh air!! This time of year is beautiful. Love the crisp fall days. Later... Love to all, S&C |
